What to expect from the dispute process

An honest look at timelines and outcomes — so the process feels clear instead of mysterious.

Timelines

After a dispute is submitted, the credit bureau generally has about 30 days to complete its reinvestigation and send results. Disputes are typically worked in rounds, spaced to allow each round to run its course before the next.

Outcomes vary

Some items are corrected or removed; others are verified and remain. That is expected — the goal is an accurate report, not the removal of accurate information. Progress is measured by comparing a fresh report against the prior one to see exactly what changed.
